Long before the first wedding toast, the Brady Lodge was a place for fresh air, friendship and community. Here is its story.

From scout camp to celebration.
- Early 1900s
Camp Brady
The land becomes home to Camp Brady, a Boy Scout camp where young people spend their summers outdoors. The camp carries the name of George Nelson Brady, a believer in the health and value of outdoor recreation.
- 1921
The Lodge Is Built
The Brady Lodge rises as the heart of the camp, a gathering place for meals, meetings and campfire stories.

Fire
Fire destroys much of the original lodge, but not the spirit of the place or the people who loved it.
- 1926June
Rebuilt in Stone
The lodge is rebuilt with its distinctive fieldstone walls, brick arches and copper-roofed tower, the landmark that still stands today.
- 1988
Bay Court Park
Independence Township acquires the property, preserving the lodge and its grounds for the community as Bay Court Park.
- Today
A New Chapter
Restored and ready, the Brady Lodge welcomes weddings, showers, reunions and celebrations, continuing more than a century of gathering.

The original dedication stone remains set into the lodge wall today. Look for it when you visit. It is a quiet reminder that this building has always found a way to bring people back together.
